Families Matter!
Families Matter! is designed to assist expecting and current parents identified as having or being at-risk of a substance use/misuse.
Case management activities include:
- Weekly parenting classes
- Education on fetal & child development
- Effects of alcohol, tobacco & other drugs (ATOD)
- Crisis intervention
- Prenatal & post-partum support
- Referrals
Families Matter! aims to assist mothers and fathers better nurture their children and make a positive difference in their lives.
Serving 30 counties in Region 9.
The Program Includes
- Program services offered Monday thru Friday during the day and evenings
- Case management services
- Educational approach to decrease the affects of substance use within the family
- Positive alternative activities to increase family nurturing and bonding
- Skill building educational sessions utilizing evidence-based practices
- Collaboration with community
organizations that lead to comprehensive linkage to services - Classes for parents offered in English and Spanish
